Annual Club Championships May 2017

Published: 09 May 2017

NPTC members and friends enjoyed some amazing tennis and a social BBQ at our 2017 Mens and Ladies doubles club championships.

We are delighted to announce our winning teams from our May 2017 annual competition:
A large, strong field of senior men played a fiercely competitive knock out competition to arrive at the grand final. Playing the best of three sets and finishing with a closely fought second set saw Andrew Plithakis & Jasper Wolfe defeat Guillaume Galanos & Ashley Stewart.

The ladies played in a round robin competition that saw newcomer Joanne Costa & Susan Clarke partner to win the competition from Juny Kesumadewi & Jackie Yu.

Congratulations to our winners and to all those who entered and stayed to watch and cheer our champions and enjoy a social BBQ.

Thanks to the Committee members and friends who organised the event and made the championship run smoothly from registrations, rosters, catering and helping out on the day.

End of Year Wrap Up

Published: 06 December 2016

Around 50 members, families and friends attended our annual club end of season get together and enjoyed some social tennis, drinks and an amazing lunch of Asian-inspired fare.

During the proceedings, our club president awarded NPTC's life membership to Gary Bell for his outstanding work as Honorary Treasurer over 14 years. In thanking Gary, Colman highlighted Gary's commitment as a volunteer to ensure the smooth running of the Club's operations for such a length of time. This is our second life membership awarded, the first was to Iggy Cannizzo.

The recent successes of the adult teams were also noted in his speech. Of the five teams who made the Spring 16 grand finals, four were successful in winning their competitions. This builds on the Autumn 16 success where four NPTC teams won their grand finals. Special mention was made of Melissa Ng who has completed her own grand slam - winning four premierships in one year.

Colman also congratulated the committee on a big year of activity for their efforts in: adopting the latest technologies for our new lighting system, the online initiative to open up the courts to the public, the smooth running of our club championships and the final celebrations for our juniors.

A big thank you to Kath for her awesome catering and to the rest of the committee for their assistance in organising the day but also for all their hard work over the past 12 months. And to our members and friends, a big thank you for your ongoing support to the club.
